There are many different views and commentaries on the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita. The new perspective followed by Lahiri Mahasaya and his direct disciples under his tutelage and mentoring is to treat this sacred book as a practical guide and an art of living, specifically for the subject of Kriya Yoga, sadhana, and spirituality.
This thought is reflected in the writings of two great commentaries:
- Surodhani Gita, commentary by Shri Panchanan Bhattacharyaji
- Yogiraj Shri Shyamacharan Lahiri Mahasaya Ki Adhyatmik Deepika by Shri Bhupendranath Sanyalji
I had a query for a long time: Why is the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita presented in this manner, and why does the word ‘Yoga’ appear in the name of every chapter?
All of this appeared enigmatic and might seem so to anyone who views or scans this wonderful book from a superficial perspective.
Shri Panchanan Bhattacharyaji, the Param Gurudev in our lineage of Gurus, described the significance of the names of all chapters in the light of Kriya Yoga.
I believe you will go through this material, perhaps by downloading the picture, keeping it on your PC or cellphone, and reflecting upon it.
This is a good way to see all the subjects covered in the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita from a broader and elevated, mountain-top perspective.
Aum Guru Prabhu!
